We are AUTSA, or if you are feeling particularly formal, the Auckland University of Technology Student Association (save time, don’t be formal).

Our role here is not to be a branch of AUT, but to be a branch of the students here at AUT. Your student service fees pay for us (thanks everyone!) so the least we can do is lend you all a hand. If you are having a rough time, have a complaint or feel as though you have been let down by AUT in any way, we are the ones who will do our best to step in and get things patched up. If you want to know more about anything or just want to get more involved in student life, we can also help with that too!

Our current offerings include an advocacy team, clubs, student council, Debate magazine and a string of events that you’ll come across throughout the year. I know all those things actually sound very boring and not of much interest, but they are actually some pretty cool services. If you feel you have been treated unfairly, whether that’s a grade you got or just a dickish landlord, the advocacy team can help you out. If you want to get among student culture and meet new people, join one of the many awesome clubs. If you want to read hard hitting journalism alongside humorous think pieces and horoscopes (hopefully the Minion erotica stays in 2020), pick up a copy of Debate magazine, or better yet, pitch an idea of your own and get published! And of course there is the events team, who organise all the awesome events you’ll be enjoying this O-week and the rest of the year.

How are we doing?

We here at AUTSA like to think of ourselves as the good guys, but if you think we aren’t doing a great job, let us know.

AUTSA is on a mission to become the best student association in Aotearoa, but we can only do that with the help of our students. If you notice something that needs work, or have any suggestions for how we can improve, we would love to hear from you!

Compulsory Student Services Fee

The Compulsory Student Services Fee (or Student Services Levy) contributes to funding student services, buildings and other facilities that students use. AUT invoices students for the fee at the same time as we invoice students for their tuition fees.
