Kia ora, we’re the Auckland University of Technology Student Association, but you can call us AUTSA. It’s nice to meet you.

 We’re a small team doing our best to make AUT a fun and safe place to be for all students. If you are having a rough time or feel as though you have been let down by AUT in any way, we will do our best to step in to help get things patched up. 

 

We can also help with getting you involved in student life! We run events and activities, publish Debate magazine, offer a range of clubs and societies, and much, much more! Think of us as your voice on campus, but with a bunch of fun stuff and free food on the side. Pretty cool, huh? We think so.

  • I need help with a problem about something at AUT
    Our friendly Advocacy team may be able to assist with any issues you're facing. They can help with: Appeal final grades Representation in disciplinary meetings Tenancy advice General legal information Formal complaints Navigating AUT policies and procedures ​
  • I'm going through a hard time financially
    We understand that student life isn't easy on the pocket! We're here to help. We offer fortnightly Campus Kai on all campuses. Our Tautoko service also runs an all day breakfast bar in WC202. Need a bit more help than that? Don't feel any shame in contacting our Tautoko team and filling out our financial assistance form. If you meet the requirements, we'll be able to supply you with what you need.
  • I need help with my mental wellbeing
    Uni life can be draining. It's important to look after yourself mentally! Check out what AUT can offer to help and support you.
  • I need support with my spirituality on campus
    Our Spirituality Support is multifaceted, and you decide how you want to foster your taha wairua – spiritual wellbeing – during your time as a student at AUT. Reach out if you need any support! Below are some ways for you to explore spirituality, but you can also contact us directly about any of these services. We are always happy to assist you in your journey of faith.
  • I need help finding a job
    If you're keen to work while studying, make sure to check out SJS (Student Job Search). They list jobs that are perfect for students!
  • I need help making friends or finding a community
    It can be hard to make new friends, but we've got the perfect solution for that. Join a club! AUTSA has 70+ clubs and communities! Check out our page here.
  • I want to hear more about student news and issues!
    Stay on top of what's going on around campus! Check out our student magazine, Debate. Want to talk to a Student Representative about student issues? Talk to our Student Rep Council members.
  • Where can I get cheap food and drink on campus?
    Make sure to get down to our fortnightly Campus Kai, AUTSA's shout! Alternatively, check out Tautoko's free All Day Breakfast Bar to tide you over. Looking for somewhere to chill between classes? Head down to Vesbar for some affordable hot food! You'll need an R18 ID.

Compulsory Student Services Fee

The Compulsory Student Services Fee (or Student Services Levy) contributes to funding student services, buildings and other facilities that students use. AUT invoices students for the fee at the same time as we invoice students for their tuition fees.
